Reflex motion is motion that
occurs without ruled by the brain. Reflex motion of an unintentional movement
and do not realize that occur automatically due to the stimulation of the nerve
without going through the control of brain
Reflex is the body's response
mechanism shortest when taking a shortcut through the spinal cord without going
through the brain first. Blinking, sneezing, coughing, including reflex.
Motion is a simple reflex
reflex involves only one or several affected body part only. For example, the
movement of the hand when bitten by ants, only the hands are suddenly
interested in itself. However, if the mouth come screaming mean reflex complex,
because it involves other parts of the body that are not exposed to or bitten
by ants.
The reflex is
a mechanism of reaction or response in the effort to protect body from any
stimulation or danger. The reaction or response will be very fast and
involuntarily. The reflex action is centered in the spinal cord. In the
mechanism of reflex action, the response that is accepted by receptor organs
will be carried by sensory nerves not to the brain, but to the spinal cord. Without
any processing by brain, the response stimulation is carried immediately by
motor nerves to effectors. The scheme is as follows.
Receptor – sensory nerves – spinal cord
– motor nerves – effectors
The way of
impulse in a reflex action is called reflex arcs. You will realize the reflex
action shortly because some of sensory nerves carrying stimulation to brain for
processing.
According to
the number of effectors involved, reflect action can be differentiated into
single reflex and complex reflex. It can be said as simple reflex if it
involves single effector, for example when your eyes winking because of dust
entering the eyes. Meanwhile, the complex reflex involves more than one effector, for example when undeliberately
your bare foot steps on a stub of cigarette and then your mouth shout because
of the pain you fell.
While according
to the location of connecting nerve (the connector), reflex action can be
divided into the brain reflex and spinal reflex. The brain reflex means that
the connector is in the brain. And the spinal reflex means that the connector
nerve is in the spinal cord.
Different from
reflex action, the stimulus of the usual motion being processed in the brain so
that you can realize the action you made. The mechanism of an usual motion is
the stimulus achieved from the receptor is brought by the sensory nerve into
the brain to get reaction. The reaction is next brought by the motor nerve into
the effectors. The scheme of the usual motion is as follows.
Receptors –
sensory nerve – brain – motor nerve – effectors
