James Prescott Joule
James Prescott Joule
Was a British physicist. He was born in Selford England,
on December 24th, 1818. James Prescott Joule never
studied at school until he was 17 years old. Because
of his health, he should study at home.
His father bought all books needed by him and provided
him a laboratory.
At 17 years old, he experienced studying in school
for the first time. Besides studied hard,
he also conducted many experiment and wrote books.
At 21 years old, he has successfully published
a book about heat produced by
Volta’s electricity.
Three years afterward, he published
a book about the equivalency
of heat on mechanic. And four
years later he published a book
about the relation and the energy
conservation. The name of Joule
is nowadays used as the unit of energy.

Therefore, his father accidentally bring a tutor to his house and provide all the necessary books Joule.
Not only that, her father even provides a special laboratory for the Joule.
However, do not just rely on Joule lessons she got from her private teacher.
Joule still trying to learn on their own so that most of the
knowledge he has acquired by means of learning itself.
However, there is one lesson that is quite difficult to understand, namely Mathematics.
After a 17-year-old new Joule school and entered the U
niversity of Manchester with the guidance of John Dalton, an English chemist who was so famous.

Joule known as students who study hard, diligent experimenting,
and also diligent in writing a book. About his book
Heat Produced by Electricity, published in 1840 when he was 22 years old.
Three years later, precisely in 1843 his book on the mechanical equivalent of heat rising.
Then, four years later (1847) he published a book about relationships
 and conservation of energy.
The books of his work is so attracted the attention of Sir William Thomson,
or known by the name of Lord Kevin. Thus, ultimately cooperating with
Joule Thomson and found Joule-Thomson effect. The effect is a principle
which is then developed in the manufacture of refrigerators.
The Exchange states that if the gas is allowed to grow without working out,
then the temperature of the gas would go down.
In addition, Joule very obedient to the religion also discovered the law
of conservation of energy, together with two physicists from Germany,
the Hermann von Helmholtz and Julius von Mayer.
The law of conservation of energy states that they found
that energy can not be created or destroyed, it can
only be transformed into electrical energy, mechanical, or heat.
